Objective
The objective is to design a residential space using a simple preexisting location (37 Bulwer Street) and dimensions (8.8 m x 15.5 m) for client that embodies the idea of inclusivity.
My Client has PTSD from a home invasion incident where he was held captive in his own home which resulted in a distrust of residential spaces and claustrophobia. He is also an athlete and enjoys the outdoors while being a very social person.
Concept
Fluidity
To address these issues, the space is designed to be loose and free flowing to allow freedom of movement while still indicating redistricts to entering the clients personal space like the second floor and kitchen. The space has multiple openings to provide visibility, natural lighting, and exits when the clients feels uncomfortable indoors.
